Summary

Distinguishing between equine herpesvirus 1 (EHV-1) and equine herpesvirus 4 (EHV-4) infections is crucial. This study found that while EHV-4 antibodies were common, EHV-1 antibodies were only detected in horses with a history of EHV-1 abortions.
