An overview of childhood cancer

The purpose of this article is to present information of interest to nurse practitioners on childhood cancer. It will begin with a brief review of the disease including details of incidence, morbidity, and mortality. Information on the clinical presentation, treatment methods, and prognosis of the most common forms is included. The paper concludes with a brief overview of selected issues related to this disease of interest to the primary care provider.
