Summary

For acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) patients in second remission, HLA-identical sibling bone marrow transplants offer better leukemia-free survival (LFS) than chemotherapy for select patient groups. Further research is needed to determine optimal treatment strategies for all AML patients in second remission.
