    Area of Science:

    • Plastic Surgery
    • Biomaterials

    Background:

    • Augmentation mentoplasty aims to improve chin aesthetics and projection.
    • Various materials have been employed for mentoplasty with mixed outcomes.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the efficacy and safety of silicone bag-gel implants in augmentation mentoplasty.

    Main Methods:

    • A retrospective review of 50 augmentation mentoplasty cases using silicone bag-gel implants.
    • Follow-up period of 18 months to assess results and complications.

    Main Results:

    • Silicone bag-gel implants yielded satisfactory aesthetic and functional outcomes.
    • No significant complications or adverse events were reported in any of the 50 cases.

    Conclusions:

    • Silicone bag-gel implants are a reliable and safe material for augmentation mentoplasty.
    • The material demonstrates a favorable risk-benefit profile for chin augmentation procedures.
