    Summary

    Area of Science:

    • Orthopedic surgery
    • Pediatric orthopedics

    Background:

    • Clubfoot is a common congenital foot deformity.
    • Resistant cases may not respond to conservative management.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the efficacy of early surgical release for resistant clubfeet.
    • To determine if surgical intervention can prevent hard tissue deformities.

    Main Methods:

    • Review of cases with resistant clubfoot.
    • Surgical release of contracted soft tissues.

    Main Results:

    • Nonsurgical treatment is contraindicated in obviously resistant clubfeet.
    • Early surgical release effectively prevents hard tissue deformities.

    Conclusions:

    • Early surgical intervention is indicated for resistant clubfeet.
    • Timely release of soft tissue contractures is crucial for preventing long-term complications.
