Abstract:
The authors report the results obtained in 34 adult patients suffering from early degenerative arthritis of the hip following mixed dysplasia in which the reduction in the central-edge angle and the increase in the acetabular index is associated with modification of the neck-shaft angle and/or femoral anteversion. These patients underwent a combined Chiari iliac osteotomy (C.I.O.) and intertrochanteric osteotomy (In.O.). The results indicate that, when the indications and technique are respected, C.I.O. associated with In.O. is a reliable surgical method.
