New frontiers in the oncology of G.I. tract

Serious, life threatening diseases remain a difficult challenge to conventional treatment methods. In an effort to improve the prognosis of G.I. malignancies, researchers are constantly exploring new treatment modalities. Combined immuno- and chemo-therapy treatment is one such method gaining attention. This article will give a brief background of combined immuno-, chemotherapy treatments, a discussion of one standardized treatment protocol, and a look at the results of the standardized protocol.
