    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate adrenal function in cancer patients undergoing short-term, high-dose prednisone therapy.
    • To assess the duration and extent of adrenal suppression following steroid discontinuation.

    Main Methods:

    • Fourteen cancer patients received chemotherapy with prednisone.
    • Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) stimulation tests were conducted before and at multiple time points after steroid withdrawal (1, 2, 4, and 7 days).
    • Adrenal function was assessed using standard criteria and integrated cortisol response over 90 minutes.
