Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the effects of central CGRP administration on the extinction of active avoidance behavior in rats.

  • Rats were administered three doses of CGRP (250 ng, 500 ng, 1 microgram) intracerebroventricularly (i.c.v.).

  • Animals were pretreated with various receptor blockers (haloperidol, propranolol, methysergide, naloxone, phenoxybenamine, atropine, bicuculline) to assess neurotransmitter involvement.
