Abstract:
This paper is intended to give you an overview about the migration process of the Hospital Information System (HIS) at the University Hospital of Giessen towards an open client server based architecture. It describes the software architecture of the existing mainframe applications and the network interfaces involved in opening the centralized software architecture to a wide variety of remote applications.
