[The winter seasonality of intestinal infections]

On the basis of various publications and his own researches the author analyses the possible causes of winter seasonal intestinal infections. It was found out that typical summer-autumn seasonal rate of bacterial intestinal infections turned into morbidity upgrowth in cold periods of year because of serious violations of hygienic regulations and sanitary rules of water supplies. The winter seasonal character of viral intestinal infections is basically connected with water-borne transmission due to high chlorine resistance of causative agents, especially at low temperatures. As for water-borne transmission, no principal differences were disclosed in seasonal characteristic features of typhoid and hepatitis A in the same social and natural conditions.
