Human T-lymphotropic virus type II in Japan

This study identified the first case of human T-lymphotropic virus type II (HTLV-II) infection in Japan among blood donors. Despite screening 1,500 HTLV-I positive individuals, only one blood donor tested positive for HTLV-IIb.
