Area of Science:

  • Ophthalmology
  • Histopathology
  • Corneal Surgery

Background:

  • Keratoplasty, or corneal transplantation, is a surgical procedure to restore vision.
  • Recurrent corneal dystrophies and graft failure are significant challenges in keratoplasty.
  • Square graft procedures, pioneered by Dr. Castroviejo, represent a specific surgical technique.
