[Diagnosis of drug allergies]

A minority of adverse drug reactions only are true allergy. The pathophysiology of most reactions remains largely unknown. This explains why despite many research in this field, diagnostic tools available are still unsatisfactory. Careful medical history and clinical examination are still the standard approach. The goal of this article is to detail the diagnostic approach of drug allergies and to review critically a number of available in vivo and in vitro tests.
