Abstract:
The long-term benefits and risks of using calcium channel blockers to treat hypertension have been called into question by reports of increased incidence of myocardial infarction and death among patients taking these drugs. There is now a worldwide effort, involving more than 30 countries and 100,000 patients, to provide a comprehensive data-base for making informed decisions.
