Summary

Apolipoprotein E (apoE) is a key marker in Alzheimer's disease (AD) research, particularly the epsilon 4 allele. While apoE influences AD pathophysiology, its genotype alone is insufficient for diagnosis, highlighting other contributing risk factors.
