Abstract
Background/Aim:
During the last few years a number of new, unconventional fractionation protocols have been established for various biological reasons. Recently specific terms, established for these schedules, have frequently been applied inappropriately in oral presentations as well as in publications. Hence, the present work was initiated in order to clarify definitions and, in addition, to illustrate the respective biological basis for the various fractionation designs.
