Summary

Severe diarrhea can cause aseptic bilateral lateral geniculitis, leading to vision loss. Corticosteroid treatment may offer some improvement for this rare condition.

  • Neuroradiology revealed bilateral increased signal intensity in the lateral geniculate bodies.
  • Cerebrospinal fluid analysis showed an isolated protein increase, suggesting inflammation.

Implications:

  • This case suggests a link between severe diarrhea and aseptic bilateral lateral geniculitis.
