Summary

Amalgambond adhesive effectively treated cervical sensitivity in teeth without restorations. This dental treatment significantly reduced or eliminated sensitivity for at least six months in most patients.

Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess the in vivo effectiveness of Amalgambond adhesive as a standalone treatment for cervical sensitivity.
  • To evaluate its feasibility on teeth not needing restorations.

Main Methods:

  • Nineteen subjects with moderate to severe cervical sensitivity were enrolled.
  • Treated teeth were compared against contralateral untreated control teeth.
  • Sensitivity was assessed via tactile and air-blast stimuli at baseline, 24 hours, 7 days, 1 month, and 6 months.

Main Results:

  • 18 of 19 treated teeth showed reduced sensitivity at 6 months.
