Tissue viability. Clinical guidelines: a pilot study of pressure sore care

Guidelines on the prevention and management of pressure sores resulting from a pilot study commissioned by the NHS Executive are expected to be published soon, as discussed on pages 37-39 of this issue. This article looks at the experience of the nurses involved in the pilot study and identifies how other nurses caring for patients with pressure sores can use guidelines to improve their practice.
