An unusually avulsed penis successfully replanted by using microsurgical technique

Background:

Penile avulsion injuries are rare and challenging reconstructive emergencies.
Successful replantation often depends on timely intervention and microsurgical expertise.

Observation:

A patient presented with a complete penile avulsion, with the glans and proximal shaft attached to the avulsed penile skin.
The tissue experienced 15 hours of ischemia before surgical intervention.

Findings:

Microsurgical vascular anastomosing of minimal subcutaneous vessels successfully reestablished blood circulation to the avulsed penile structures.
Both the penile skin and glans survived following the replantation procedure.
