[Responsibilities and generic drugs]

The existence of generics is essentially due to the competition between pharmaceutical specialties by the prices at the end of patent protection. It could be useful in the countries where the prices are very high. In France, the consumption of drugs is high in volume and the average of prices of pharmaceuticals is low. So the generics is not able to really solve the problem of pharmaceuticals' consumption. Moreover one must be vigilant from healthcare point of view for the quality of production. The consequences at the level of pharmaceutical researches could be significant. At last, the eventual right substitution can threaten the freedom of prescription.
