Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) infiltration in blood and bone marrow is not well defined. Study reveals MCL marrow patterns overlap with follicular small cleaved cell lymphoma (SCCL) and small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL), hindering definitive diagnosis.

  • To define the patterns of peripheral blood and bone marrow infiltration in MCL.
  • To compare these patterns with follicular small cleaved cell lymphoma (SCCL) and small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL).

  • Review of blood and bone marrow specimens from 13 MCL patients.
  • Comparative analysis of infiltration patterns with SCCL and SLL.

  • Peripheral blood involvement observed in 38% of MCL patients with small circulating cells.
