Summary

In chronically diseased livers, the hepatic artery diameter may increase, potentially indicating liver function. In healthy individuals, hepatic artery and portal vein diameters decrease with age.

  • The serial changes in hepatic inflow vessels' caliber in chronic liver disease are not well understood.

  • To analyze caliber changes in hepatic inflow vessels in patients with chronic liver disease and esophageal varices.
