Abstract:
This paper looks at the nature of nurses' role in bowel management. It discusses how this fundamental and important work is hidden from public view and is therefore undervalued and ignored. The reasons for this are highlighted. The author calls for nurses to publicise their continuous and substantial achievements in this area.
