    Summary

    Genetic factors influence diabetic neuropathy. Fast acetylators were more common in diabetics without neuropathy, suggesting a protective genetic role against nerve damage in diabetes.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the association between acetylator status and diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
    • To determine if genetic factors influence neuropathy risk in diabetes.

    • Comparison of acetylator phenotypes in three groups: diabetics with neuropathy, diabetics without neuropathy (disease duration ≥10 years), and a normal population.
