Summary

Osteosarcoma can develop in the femur years after hip replacement surgery due to an unstable prosthesis. This rare complication highlights the need to consider neoplasia after total hip arthroplasty.

Total hip arthroplasty (THA) is a common procedure for hip joint issues.
Complications of THA can include infection, loosening, and dislocation.
Long-term complications are less understood, particularly concerning neoplastic transformation.
