Abstract:
A 27-year-old female who suffered from aneurysmal bone cyst in sternal manubrium, which is histologically confirmed, underwent sternal manubriumectomy. Tumor was totally resected. Manubrial defect was replaced with two metal plates, which joined both stumps of the second ribs and both sternal ends of clavicles, respectively, and wide Marlex mesh. Using non-absorbable sutures, two metal plates were fixed to the mesh, and the mesh was also secured to surrounding structures, to hold the normal function of thorax and shoulder joints.
