Summary

Ethanol consumption significantly increases the risk of cancers in the mouth, pharynx, esophagus, and colon. Alcohol abuse also contributes to gastroesophageal reflux disease, Mallory-Weiss syndrome, and impacts nutrient absorption in the small bowel.
