Abstract:
We describe a 24-year-old woman with acute hepatitis B virus infection who developed extensive erythematous papules in a photolocalized distribution. The eruption occurred during the prodromal phase, and subsided with the development of jaundice. She had had moderate sunburn 18 days prior to the development of the eruption, which was accentuated on the tanned area. To our knowledge, this is the first case of a photolocalized eruption due to hepatitis B virus infection.
