Summary

Centrifugal pumps may better preserve blood factors like Factor VIII, fibrinogen, and platelets during cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) compared to roller pumps. However, no significant differences in blood transfusions or post-operative bleeding were observed between the two pump types.

Background:
