Abstract:
A radioassay for human serum DNA using 3H-actinomycin D was developed and evaluated. The assay was found to be technically simple, precise, sensitive and specific for DNA. Both native and denatured DNA levels could be measured using a nuclease specific for sDNA, since denatured DNA reproducibly bound 3H-actinomycin D under the assay conditions. Analysis of human sera yielded results in accord with those previously reported for man.
