Morgagni hernia, a rare condition, was diagnosed using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). MRI effectively identified herniated omental fat in the thorax, proving useful for evaluating anterior mediastinal masses.

  • MRI revealed omental fat herniating through the diaphragm into the thorax.

Implications:

  • MRI is a valuable noninvasive tool for diagnosing Morgagni hernias.
  • This imaging modality aids in differentiating mediastinal masses with fat density.
