Alternate treatment options for restoring the posterior maxilla with implants
The New York State Dental Journal
|January 1, 1996
Abstract:
Several techniques have been designed to overcome the anatomic limitations seen in the surgical placement of root form implants in the maxilla. The pterygoid plate implant, guided bone regeneration and sinus lifting procedures are three of those techniques. In all cases the objective is to eliminate removable dentures and excessively long cantilevered fixed restorations.
