Transcending the barriers of cultural diversity in health care

The focus of this paper is on the diverse cultures impacting health care. Initiatives to advance a sense of responsibility, a unified, competent health care congruent with multicultural requirements of people in a kaleidoscopic society are cited. Selected scenarios depicting barriers in transcultural/cross-cultural health care are presented, and mechanisms to transcend the barriers are advocated.
