Polarities and amalgams: analytic dyads and the individuals within them

In this paper, I address some of the polarities in existence in psychoanalytic thinking today. I challenge these extreme positions and offer vantage points for the inclusion of both sides. I use a clinical vignette to demonstrate the need for such pluralistic perspectives.
