    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To develop and evaluate a selective medium for the isolation of Staphylococcus hyicus from swine samples.
    • To assess the utility of simple diagnostic tests for routine identification of S. hyicus in pigs.

    • Development of a selective culture medium incorporating potassium thiocyanate and polysorbate 80.
