Area of Science:

  • Dermatology
  • Oncology

Background:

  • Eccrine porocarcinoma is a rare malignant neoplasm originating from the sweat glands.
  • Vulvar neoplasms are uncommon, and eccrine porocarcinoma of the vulva is exceptionally rare.

Observation:

  • A 75-year-old woman presented with a slowly growing vulvar tumor.
  • The tumor was diagnosed as an eccrine porocarcinoma with metastasis to the left inguinal lymph nodes.

Findings:

  • This represents only the second reported case of vulvar eccrine porocarcinoma in the medical literature.
  • The patient underwent a left hemivulvectomy, bilateral inguinal-femoral lymphadenectomy, and adjuvant radiation therapy.

Implications:

  • This case highlights the importance of considering rare malignancies in vulvar lesions.
  • Further research and case reporting are crucial for understanding and managing vulvar eccrine porocarcinoma.
