Restructuring the health care delivery system in the United States

The article examines some of the drivers and related factors that led to the development of modern health care delivery systems. It assesses the relative successes of different models in today's evolving market and suggests strategies and modifications that are most likely to assure success in our national quest for improved quality and efficiency in the health care delivery systems. The article concludes with a brief look at the changes that may be necessary in health education to support this evolution in health care delivery.
