[Combined gastric resection in cancer]

The author reports the result of combined subtotal gastrectomies with pancreatoduodenal resection in proliferation of the antral portion cancer in the pancreatic head in 8 patients. One patient died due to postoperative complications. Seven patients have been kept under observation during the period from 6 months to 1 year and longer without any signs of tumor recurrence and metastases. No disturbances in the incretory function of the pancreas was noted. The digestive ability of the gastrointestinal tract is quite satisfactory.
