Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the suitability and safety of an established intravenous infusion technique in pregnant New Zealand White rabbits.
  • To determine the effects of continuous physiological saline infusion on maternal and fetal outcomes during gestation.

  • Eighteen pregnant rabbits underwent anesthesia and superior vena cava catheterization for IV infusion of saline (4 ml/kg/day) from day 1 to day 19 of gestation.
