Heated mustard compresses, used as a naturopathic remedy, can cause severe burns. This case study highlights the risk of hyperpigmentation and scarring from such treatments.

Findings:

  • Heated mustard compresses pose a significant risk of thermal injury.
  • The burn exhibited characteristics of a partial-thickness burn.
  • Delayed sequelae included hyperpigmentation and hypertrophic scarring.
