[Techniques, strategies, and uses of molecular biology in medicine]

In this article we describe part of the molecular biology techniques that are currently employed in medicine. At present, with these techniques, we can understand the molecular mechanisms of some inherited, infectious, and neoplastic diseases, as well as the possibility of achieving gene therapy with the production and application of recombinant proteins. Other important aplications will be in the early diagnosis of genetic, infectious and neoplastic diseases.
