Background:

Cataract extraction in eyes with filtering blebs can compromise bleb function and lead to failure.
Maintaining the integrity of filtering blebs is crucial for managing intraocular pressure.

Purpose of the Study:

To describe and evaluate a surgical technique for cataract extraction that preserves filtering bleb function.
To assess the safety and efficacy of this combined surgical approach.

Main Methods:

Retrospective review of 19 eyes undergoing corneal incision phacoemulsification.
Simultaneous internal revision of the previous filtering bleb was performed.
Follow-up averaged 13.6 months.
