    Background:

    • Group therapy is a common intervention for behavioral improvement.
    • Individual characteristics may influence therapeutic outcomes.
    • Previous research has not extensively explored the impact of eye color on therapy effectiveness.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the effectiveness of group therapy on student behavioral dimensions.
    • To examine the relationship between participant eye color and therapy outcomes.
    • To determine if differences in improvement exist across psychology programs.

    Main Methods:

    • Utilized a 3 (eye color) x 2 (program) two-way ANOVA on 35 master's students.
    • Administered the Vriend and Dyer Scale pre- and post-therapy.
    • Measured changes in Self Defeating Behaviors, Fully Functioning Behaviors, and Personal Mastery Index.

    Main Results:

    • Significant main effects for Fully Functioning Behaviors were found based on eye color (p < .002).
    • Significant main effects for Fully Functioning Behaviors were also found based on program type (p < .03).
    • No significant interactions or main effects were observed for other behavioral dimensions.

    Conclusions:

    • Group therapy positively impacts fully functioning behaviors in students.
    • Eye color and program of study are significant factors influencing improvements in fully functioning behaviors.
    • Further research is warranted to understand the mechanisms behind these observed relationships.
