[Hearing loss during the course of mumps]

Unilateral deafness as a permanent hearing injury in a patient aged 15 years with mumps is presented. Attention is paid to uncommon occurence of that complication in the course of the disease and to necessarity of taking into consideration mumps virus among other ototoxic infectious factors.
