Background:

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease.
Gastrointestinal manifestations of SLE are diverse but intussusception is rare.

Observation:

A 19-year-old male with a history of SLE presented with acute abdominal pain and bloody diarrhea.
Exploratory laparotomy revealed multiple intussusceptions involving the ileum, cecum, and ascending colon.

Findings:

Mesenteric lymphadenopathy was identified as the likely cause of the intussusceptions.
This represents the second reported case of SLE-induced intussusception in the literature.

Implications:

This case underscores the importance of considering intussusception in SLE patients with abdominal symptoms.
