    Area of Science:

    • Neuro-oncology
    • Ophthalmology
    • Neurosurgery

    Background:

    • Optic canal meningiomas are rare tumors.
    • They can cause significant visual impairment.

    Observation:

    • A case presented with progressive visual deterioration and optic atrophy.
    • Neurologic investigations were initially negative.

    Findings:

    • Surgical exploration was required for diagnosis.
    • Bilateral optic canal meningiomas were identified.

    Implications:

    • Highlights the importance of surgical exploration in diagnosing optic canal masses.
    • Emphasizes the potential for meningiomas to present with subtle or delayed neurological signs.
