Summary

Copper(II) complexes, particularly bis(acetato)tetrakis(imidazole) copper (II) [Cu(OAc)2(Im)4], significantly lower blood glucose in rats. The hypoglycemic effect depends on the complex structure and imidazole ligand, with high doses causing adverse effects.
