Summary

Leukotrienes (LTs) play a key role in dry air-induced bronchoconstriction (AIB). Inhibiting leukotriene biosynthesis significantly reduces AIB in canine airways.

Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the specific role of leukotrienes in the development of dry air-induced bronchoconstriction (AIB) in canine peripheral airways.
  • To assess the impact of inhibiting leukotriene biosynthesis on AIB.

    • Prostaglandins also contribute to the modulation of AIB, with different correlations observed after LT inhibition.
